A new driveway is one of the most visible upgrades to a home, and one of the easiest to get wrong. The asphalt on top only lasts as long as the base underneath it and the drainage around it.
Drainage and edges
The driveway is graded so water runs off the surface and away from the garage and foundation. Edges along the lawn are compacted and shaped, because unsupported edges are where most driveways start to crumble.
Replace or resurface?
If the existing driveway is flat and draining but worn, resurfacing may be enough. If it is sinking, heaving or cracked in a web pattern, the base has failed and a full replacement is the lasting fix. We tell you which on the site visit.
